Painting
If there is one thing I hate doing almost more than anything else, it’s painting. Either with a brush or a roller, it’s still bad. After finishing, the cleanup is almost as bad as the job itself. What to do with the brush or roller is always the question. I have about decided that the best thing to do is to buy cheap stuff and throw it away at the end of the day. That doesn’t make painting easier, but cleanup is a snap! There is only one easier way; hire someone else to do it. I can’t believe there are people that actually do this every day for a living.

Weight Maintenance
It is so difficult to be retired and at the same time, enjoy preparing and eating food. Maintaining my weight while I was working was not a problem; stress I guess! Now, even though I exercise regularly, it is a constant struggle. Maybe it comes with age, but at this point, I am beginning to wonder how I will make it through the next few years.

Thursdays
About the only good thing about Thursdays is that they serve as a bridge from Wednesdays to Fridays! At least I don’t look forward to the first and third Thursdays of each month. Those are the days that the Reeves Team feels compelled to clean the house! Before retirement, we had someone else do the housecleaning, but now that we have the time….. It’s not that it is such a difficult task; it’s just one that I can’t look forward to. So, the best thing to do is to get up early on those Thursday mornings and get to it! Today, I was finished by 10 A.M. Then to breakfast and the rest of the day free! Tomorrow? TGIF.

A Recipe to Remember
If you know me, you know that I enjoy cooking (and eating). Last night I made a chicken dish that will be remembered by my family for a long time. I took bits and pieces of other recipes and created my own recipe for Chicken Diane. It came out so good. Served with some couscous and a salad, it made a perfect dinner! Add a nice bottle of Pinot Grigio for the finishing touch. The recipe for my Chicken Diane and other chicken recipes can be found at www.glensplace.com.
