Patience
A lot of things in life require patience. I thought, after spending 33 years teaching fifth and sixth grade students, that I was a very patient person. When I started trying to get this blog to work on my website, I began to wonder. After spending most of two afternoons, I finally decided to just give up. Maybe I don’t need a blog after all. Then, an idea. Why not just start over from scratch. After 10 minutes, here it is. I am not sure how much I will add to it on a regular basis, but I got it to work. Give up? I knew I wouldn’t give up. That’s just not my nature!
Giving Up
On second thought, I have realized that there are times when one should just give up. The best example I can think of right concerns our GOVERNATOR here in California. He finally realized he had made a mistake when he started trying to alter the pension plans of all public employees, including teachers, firefighters, policemen etc. He finally realized that was a mistake, and he gave up, for now anyway.George Bush should realize that messing with Social Security in the way he wants to is a mistake, and he should just give up. So, I guess there are times when giving up is not such a bad thing.
